THEATRE FOR DREAMERS IS CHARACTERIZED BY HOUSE CODES OF DRAMATIC DEEP-V CUT-OUTS.

SYMMETRY IS EXPLORED WITHIN THE DESIGN JOURNEY OF THE GOWN; EMBRACED IN THE BODICE PANELLING, RELIED ON IN THE PLUNGING NECK AND BACK LINES, THEN ABANDONED IN THE DREAMSCAPE OF IRREGULARLY GATHERED TIERS. 

THE SELF-LINED BODICE OF THE POPPY GOWN IS DESIGNED TO SIT AWAY FROM THE BODY FOR A DELIBERATELY LOOSE, BOHEMIAN SILHOUETTE. DELICATE SPAGHETTI STRAPS ALMOST DISAPPEAR INTO THE SKIN, CREATING A BARELY-THERE LOOK ACROSS THE SHOULDERS. 

GENEROUSLY CUT FROM 35 YARDS OF SHEER SILK ORGANZA, THE VOLUMINOUS SKIRT IS GATHERED IN A CONSIDERED WAY, WITH GATHERING MORE CONCENTRATED IN THE FRONT AND BACK OF THE TIERS TO OFFER MORE COVERAGE.

THE DIAPHANOUS NATURE OF THE DELICATE SHEER FABRIC OFFERS GLIMPSES OF GLIMMERING SKIN WITHIN, KEEPING THE VOLUMINOUS SILHOUETTE AIRY AND LIGHT. 

A SUBTLE TRAIN WITH ADDITIONAL LENGTH AT THE BACK ADDS DRAMA WHEN SWANNING ACROSS ROOMS.

100% Silk Organza

The fit of the bodice, both in the bust and waist, is deliberately loose and relaxed. Think of a cloud-like, bohemian dream rather than a sleek, contoured fit.

For comparison with the original Tiered Gown in Obsidian black, the Poppy Gown in this limited-edition Rose Quartz has an additional 10 yards of sheer silk organza than the original Tiered Gown in Obsidian black. 

The Poppy Gown has a lined bodice, whereas the original Tiered Gown in Obsidian has a deliberately sheer, unlined bodice and also has a longer, more dramatic train at the back.

Personal Note

This dress was first inspired by one of our beloved muses and friend of the house, Poppy Delevigne, who wore the very first iteration of it; a fully custom, red carpet look for  British Vogue’s ‘Fashion and Film’ BAFTA party.

Like a sartorial seer, our Fashion Director, Olivia Buckingham, knew an incredibly romantic, feminine spin on our original Tiered Gown in Obsidian would be perfect in a blush, almost ballet-like pink for Pops. 

From the idea being floated over fizz at The Ritz in Paris during Fashion Week to several months of back and forth couriers of toiles between NYC and London, multiple fittings and feedback (from iphone photos to facetime fittings) to create the end result; 50 metres of silk in a show-stopping moment celebrating the divine feminine before Poppy entered her own next chapter; motherhood.

While it’s since been spotted on the one and only Diane Kruger and made a cameo appearance on the famed Orient Express, it’ll always be our Poppy.
